My boss recently hired a technician to install a new HVAC in the office. The event turned out pretty enetful and ended up with a learning session two weeks later. I applaud him for insisting ignorance is no defence and everyone should make an effort to learn something new if the opportunity presents itself. The air quality had worsened over the last few weeks. When he contacted the most affordable HVAC company around, he got more than one quote for different equipment types. Another one was raised with the quote after their air conditioning professional visited the office to assess the situation. From his explanation, he said there had been a recent development in the cooling industry that promoted the revised quote because our systems were a bit outdated. Once an agreement was reached, the heating and cooling provider supplied the equipment at a reasonable price. We also learned about furnace/heater repair, and the procurement and the in-house a/c repairman got a special lesson on air conditioner install. Now because this was a company, we did not get the homeowner solutions package, but we were enlisted for a new package that covers commercial AC units, and a new contractor can only offer that service once it’s activated after three months.
