Back when I was a dumb teenager, I used to guess that people who did trade work like mechanics, plumbing, electrical work, & heating & cooling work weren’t legitimately smart. I don’t think where I got this method from, but I’m guessing it was from the media & TV shows that I was enjoying during that stage of time. I think that a lot of my teachers in high university put a heavy emphasis on the importance of going to university, too. It always seemed like the teenagers who were in the technical classes weren’t considered to be serious students like the ones in the university prep classes, & I don’t think why that was! Of course, now that I’m older, I see that this sort of thinking is easily crazy; For instance, I think several guys who work as Heating, Ventilation & A/C professionals & they are some of the smartest people that I know. One Heating, Ventilation & A/C repairman that I think is in the middle of completing some other certification classes on modern types of heating technology & another one is thinking about opening up his own commercial Heating, Ventilation & A/C business here in town. I think that sometimes, people don’t guess that trade workers are quite as smart as university teachers, but truthfully, I don’t guess that’s true at all. I would like to see a university teacher try to do a heat pump replacement or an air conditioner maintenance task. I think it just depends on what you consider as the definition of smart! These afternoons, I guess I would prefer to be an Heating, Ventilation & A/C serviceman than a university teacher.
