I feel bad for the abuse we put upon our HVAC system.
It works overtime to keep us coor in the summer and warm in the winter. I often forget about having the maintenance done on the system. I know I should have a thorough inspection and servicing done once a year on both the AC and the furnace. I just can’t remember to have it done. I realized that I had to contrive a plan that would help me to make that a priority. I want my HVAC system to work well for a long time. I started writing down a reminder of the HvAC service done, on my notepad on the phone. I set reminders on my calendar on both the phone and the computer. I am on my phone and computer every day. I was hoping that with the reminders, it would change my mindset. I guess it was like subliminal messaging, but I knew I was doing it. After a while, I already knew that I had to call for maintenance. After a month, I realized it was soon going to be fall. I called the HVAC company and set up an appointment for servicing on my furnace. I couldn’t believe it when he told me it had been five years since I had bought the HVAC system. Other than the first year when it was covered under my warranty, they had heard me at the HVAC company. I was glad I came up with my own reminder system. I now set up the reminders to start two weeks before I need service done on either the furnace or air conditioning unit.
