Ever since I was a young girl, I have been creative.
Everyone that it was just a fad with me.
They thought that I would soon find something else to tempt me. They thought I would abandon my ideas for something more interesting. I took a home economics class in college, and they were working on designs for t-shirts. This fascinated me, and it was in the line of what I had been doing since I was young. I was able to design my own t-shirts. I went to town and bought plain white t-shirts of all sizes. I bought the machinery I needed to create transfers and put them on the shirts. Since I couldn’t do this in my apartment, my dad offered to let me use the basement in the house. I was now crammed into a basic that had always been hot and humid in the summer, but now it was worse. With my computer, the transfer maker and the large ironing center, the heat was even worse. I tried talking to my mom and telling her I needed air conditioning and a bit more airflow. My mom didn’t think much about the heat that was happening in the living room and the rest of the house. She liked that she wasn’t spending as much money on the energy bill. I tried talking to my dad and he said I would need to talk to mom. Since neither wanted to do anything, I decided to call the HVAC company and have the air conditioning repaired. I was going to pay for any and all repairs since I seemed to be the only who noticed.
