My cats are lying in the sun next to my humming air purifier while I write away.
- It’s a far cry from working in my cubicle at my engineering job and I am happy with my choice to get here.
I could be working at a high stress job making the big bucks but never having the time off to really unwind and enjoy life. I could be stuck at that job till I am in my late 60’s and just worn out from so many years of hard work. I like writing about HVAC systems from the comfort of my own home, with my climate control system keeping me cool as my cats bask in the warm sun on my living room floor. I used to work all day long at that corporate job and get home around 7pm with not much energy left to do all of the things I needed to do. Sometimes I would come home to my air conditioner leaking and I would have to work on it till later at night after eating dinner and going to the gym. I hardly had any time left to get all the normal daily errands and cooking done each day, and on weekends I would spend most of my free time catching up on shopping and cleaning around the house. Now, I write for a couple hours a day about heat pump installations and SEER ratings with plenty of time to do all of the things I need to do around the house and for myself. Life is pretty cool.
