Maybe they have a heat strip in it like a normal HVAC system in a house has, or possibly a heat pump, but I know they need to be careful about sapping too much power from the electric batteries.
I want to see what the HVAC systems are like nowadays that they put in the newest electric cars. I remember my old Pontiac 6000 from the 90’s and all of the problems it had with its air conditioner. I was always sinking money into the HVAC system of that car, having to buy compressors and get freon leaks fixed on a regular basis. I bet the new systems in these nice electric cars have closed loop systems requiring zero maintenance and not polluting the environment at all. I have yet to look under the hood of a fully electric car to see what it looks like and how it sounds, or doesn’t sound. I wonder how much maintenance an electric engine needs anyways. I would also like to know how the heating works because the engine doesn’t get hot enough to heat the air like a normal combustion engine does. It is going to get really interesting in a few years with all of the advancements that the automotive industry has made with non combustible engines. At least the HVAC systems have improved a lot since the days of my old Pontiac 6000. I bet some of these automotive air conditioning repair companies will run out of work soon if the HVAC systems in the cars get any more reliable.
