My parents have always been the type of people who have some genuinely wild beliefs.
I’m not entirely sure where they got the idea from, but somehow they had convinced themselves that any kind of Heating plus A/C equipment technology or anything involving heating plus cooling contractors or dealers were evil… They were very suspicious of HVAC professionals.
The theories they provided me for why were insane. I heard everything from cooling system units suck your soul out while you are sleeping, that heating plus cooling machinery attracts goblins plus fairies who will curse you, plus my personal favorite that the government uses the air vents in your residence to watch you 24/7. It makes about as much sense as you would think it would. On one occasion when I was seven, my parents plus I moved into a genuinely nice property with genuinely nice Heating plus A/C equipment. My mother went outside plus poured water inside the cooling equipment. She said it would destroy the voodoo. Needless to say, I didn’t have access to gas furnaces or cooling equipment with exception of school plus public buildings. Luckily I didn’t fall for their crazy beliefs plus I now live on my own plus have an amazing electric heater. I even got a smart temperature control for my own property plus I couldn’t be more thrilled about it. The downside is my parents are convinced I’m practicing some type of magic simply because they don’t understand how technology works. I tried to explain to them that heating plus cooling equipment products have improved the lives of numerous people, plus that it’s just a component plus heating plus cooling service technicians simply repair them. But they won’t budge, too set in their ways. At least they respect my wishes.
