I easily remember the day, sort of like it was just yesterday. It was a sizzling summer day and I was trapped there in my school. I was 10 years old and incredibly bored. I watched the teacher go over the day’s lesson and I couldn’t help but to let my mind go wandering. The cooling equipment in the building was easily working, so despite the terrible heat outside, everybody was cool inside. That lasted for a little while and then out of nowhere the air conditioning equipment died. All the heat from outside started to slowly seep inside. All of us all started heating up rather quickly and we were perspiring. The school definitely needed to contact a Heating, Ventilation, and A/C professional to come out and look at the cooling equipment. The uneven temperatures outside were dangerously overheated and so our school was dismissed early. I loved that as a youngster, but even better, the entire week was really hot. The school was struggling getting the air conditioning equipment checked out. Something about a shortage of parts needed for the cooling equipment to be repaired. On normal days there was a cool breeze outside, but all that was outside was the brutal heat and humidity. Due to the concerns the school was closed for the length of a week. I loved this and hoped they would never get the A/C equipment repaired. But soon enough, they had finally gotten a cooling system repair professional and now the school had nice cool air once more… When I went back to my classes the air was a little too nippy. The temperature difference between the outside and the inside was very noticeable. But they said the chilly temperatures definitely kept the mind sharp.
