The plan of living inside of an old jetliner was nowhere near on our radar when it came to putting a lake condo on our property, and it’s also sort of ironic that I now live in an old plane, but I also hated getting on planes.
- It wasn’t due to actual flying as much as it was the heating and cooling while in air travel; and when you’re packed in on a long flight and the heating and A/C isn’t right, it’s just no good.
I used to fly quite often for supplier travel! Thankfully, instead of hating air travel, I appreciate living inside an old jet. I have lived inside apartments for a long time because I’ve regularly lived and worked in the city. While our house was okay, I longed for homeownership and having our own heating and A/C equipment, so I obtained a piece of property about 90 minutes out of the neighborhood that’s in the woods and just attractive. When I was figuring out what sort of structure to put on it, I was invited to consider using the fuselage of the plane as living quarters. I did it and I appreciate it. The heating and A/C professionals were able to install a pair of ductless heat pumps for quality heating and air. And I did a lot of the toil myself, then now, I have 1,400 square feet of lake condo at a second of the cost of building a similar space with central air conditioner. I wouldn’t have even believed it had I not done it myself. So now, I’m finally getting the quality central heating and air that I want on our jetliner.
