I lived in our house for over twenty years plus never paid any attention to the duct system. While I was conscientious about decreasing the filters in the cooling system plus heating system, it never occurred to myself and others that the duct idea would need service. Every fall, I busy professional repair for the heating system, plus every Spring, I called for upkeep for the cooling system. I’m not sure why the Heating plus Air Conditioning supplier who handled the proactive services never commanded an inspection of the HVAC duct. It wasn’t until the two of us started having complaints with indoor air conditions that I finally took notice of the ducts. There were unpleasant smells plus allergens spewing from the supply vents. The heating system seemed to be running nonstop plus our heating bills were much higher than normal. Despite paying extra every week, the house felt downright frigid. I kept raising the temperature control setting, but the heating idea wasn’t able to keep up. Certain rooms were much colder than others. I finally called for heating system repair. The serviceman checked the heating system plus found no concerns. She then inspected the duct idea plus discovered that airflow was significantly restricted by a buildup of debris. There was a considerable accumulation of dust, mold growth, mildew, construction debris, bacteria, bugs, webs plus even a couple of decomposing rodents. These pollutants were circulated throughout the house plus getting breathed in by our family, and not only was the dirty HVAC duct costing myself and others a fortune plus adding to the wear plus tear of the heating plus cooling system, but it was the source of a health risk.
