I was not cabin when the Heating & Air Conditioning professional got there, so I had my son let him in. He went to work in the attic, which happened to be directly above the family room. When I returned I observed a dark stain on my brand current antique arm chair! The Heating & Air Conditioning professional had accidentally spilled a dark substance in the attic & it was leaking onto the chair from the ceiling. He must have heard me yell because he came suddenly out of the ceiling & down to the family room. Once he observed the stain, he instantly apologized & provided to have the chair upgraded. I accepted his apology, however there was no upgradement for this unique armchair. I told him that it was one of a kind, & he felt awful.

When they wake up with insomnia and imagine the noises at night, it would make it even harder to try to sleep at night. We came to find out later that the old boiler was the culprit for the loud banging and whistling sounds. I too hated hearing that thing go off in the middle of the night whenever I visited my parents in late Autumn, winter, or even in early Springtime seasons. We had a boiler as our only heating equipment so there was nothing we could do then. That boiler was running all the time during the weeks, especially when it was the coldest months. Thankfully, nowadays my parents live in a home with a furnace that does not make a ton of frightening noises all night. It’s fairly quiet now unless you’re kneeling right next to it in the basement. Despite the improved efficiency and lack of noise, my kids are still not convinced grandma’s house isn’t haunted.

The fact that Flavian was used to working from home, away from any interruptions made him super productive. He hates it when people call him out of the blues or even show up at the front door. His noisy interruption forced him to step away from his work desk and have a small talk with the plumber. He could not multitask which is why he preferred to have a casual conversation. The same thing happened recently with a heating & cooling professional. He had to get his air conditioner tested since it also was acting up and doing unusual things. He ended up having to get interrupted many times that day that he just chose to speak with the heating and cooling professional. He wasn’t happy about getting interrupted but there wasn’t anything to do. Luckily, the heating & cooling technician got everything fixed quickly and managed to get out of his house in under 2 hours. Things could absolutely have been much worse.
