My parents were smart to invest in a hotel business.
They have been running the hotel way before I was ever born.
The thing about the hotel is that we also have our residence in this building. We have our own little addition and we are able to take care of business while easily being able to go back home to relax. My father always explained to me that one of the most important things that the guests care about are the HVAC systems. They must be worked on regularly so that there are no HVAC breakdowns. When they do breakdown, we have to call the local HVAC company out to service the HVAC units that are experiencing troubles. When that happens, we have to send our guests to upgraded suits or similar rooms. It’s not always easy dealing with the guests. Sometimes they will be happy with free vouchers, and sometimes they could never be pleased no matter what you did. Some guests could be told they wouldn’t be charged a dime for their stay, and they will still leave angry and leave terrible reviews. That’s another wise thing my father taught me, that you can’t please everybody no matter how hard you try. Now that my parents are becoming older, they want me to take over the hotel business. They actually bought their own place separate from the hotel a long while back and they want me to be successful. I was considering going my own path as an HVAC professional. I think I might actually do both, it would be nice to know how to work on the HVAC components in the hotel so I can save big money and make more profits.
I have actually been to so many foster homes that I felt that I couldn’t even trust people for the most part.
I always could see somebody scheming to take advantage, and I hated that.
I have had numerous foster parents claim they were only trying to help when they got their benefits from the state. I could never stand fake people and I always felt I could make my own way in life. Well, I actually did end up with some foster parents that weren’t so bad. They actually helped direct me to a career path that I likely wouldn’t have thought of. The father figure was telling me that it would be a good idea to look into going to a trade school to learn a trade. He told me how he learned to be a plumber and he made a great living over the years and eventually retired. He was telling me how I could be successful doing the same thing, or working as an HVAC professional, or even an electrician. The thought of becoming an HVAC professional sounded appealing to me, and so I started studying about it. I eventually was able to get into a decent trade school with the help of my latest Foster parents, and I was able to become successful as an HVAC technician. I wanted to pay them back for their help, but they said it was no big deal. They were only concerned about me being happy in life, and I was able to achieve a little bit of that thanks to them.

I asked her what she meant in the beginning and she explained how he always goes out to help people who are in need.
When they were in trouble with their malfunctioning HVAC systems, he was there to the rescue. I thought it didn’t seem to be such a big deal until she told me about the times he actually saved lives. She told me about this family who lost their heating in the winter. They were not able to afford a hotel or anything and my father came to fix their heating system. Instead of turning them down for being broke, he was able to arrange a payment plan that they could afford. He even made arrangements so they didn’t have to start paying right away which they were extremely grateful for. After hearing about a few more stories like that, I started to agree with my mother that my father was a superhero and I wanted to be just like him. I ended up going out with him on different HVAC service calls, and he taught me pretty much everything he knew. Before I knew it, he was paying for me to get my HVAC certification at a local HVAC school. I took it all very seriously because I wanted to help people in the surrounding communities. Fortunately, I have been successful and I have been helping people all around. My favorite thing to help people with is their air purification systems because those systems make it so people are protected from dangerous pathogens. I think having good air quality in your home is one of the most important things.
After that I will usually hop in the shower so that I can get cleaned off and enjoy the rest of my night
For a long time, I have been working as a professional gardener. I have a pretty good list of clients who all happen to own large homes that need regular gardening. I have helped design some of the gardens for these homes and others I just work hard to maintain. I have always had a fascination with gardening and I love gardening at my own home especially. I actually have a pretty cool set up at home with my greenhouse that I built myself. I also hooked up a ductless mini split to my greenhouse which allows me to work on my gardening year round. It really is a blessing to do this kind of work for a living. I will admit that some of the clients I have can be rude and treat me like I’m worthless, but others aren’t so bad. It doesn’t matter too much to me because I don’t have to deal with the clients face to face very often. I am mostly just out in the gardens doing my thing and working my magic. I love showing off my work too. When people drive by and see some of the gardens I have worked on, they are typically impressed. Of course one of the most relaxing things is getting back home after a long day and adjusting the climate control to the perfect temperature control settings. After that I will usually hop in the shower so that I can get cleaned off and enjoy the rest of my night. Sometimes, I have to do a little bit of late gardening to make sure my own plants are okay, but all the work is worth it.
The last time my wife and I had a tune-up performed on the HVAC system, the technician cleaned and sanitized the ductwork in our attic.
My wife and I didn’t realize we had a bunch of problems with the ductwork, until we had a service tune up on the heating and air conditioning system. The technician used a camera to check the ductwork for holes, rips, and tears. While using the camera, the HVAC technician realized there was a lot of buildup of dust and debris inside of my ductwork. The technician showed me video footage from the ductwork and the guy gave me an estimate to have the work completed. My wife and I did not want to waste any time having the work performed, especially after we saw the gross contents of our HVAC ductwork. On the same day, a team of experts came to the house to clean and sanitize the ductwork. They removed a whole garbage bag filled with dust and dirt. I was completely shocked and embarrassed when I saw the contents of the bag. There was a ton of dust in the bag, but also some lint from the dryer. After the ductwork was cleaned, the indoor air quality was greatly improved. I used to find myself sneezing almost every morning when I got up, but since the ductwork was cleaned, I rarely sneezed at all. My allergy symptoms are more controlled with a single daily pill. Having the ductwork cleaned was a great idea and I didn’t really spend too much money for the service.

I was certain that I could fix the problem with the AC on my own, if I had a couple of days to troubleshoot the problem.
My wife agreed not to call a repair service until I had a whole weekend to look at the machine. I consider myself to be a handy person and I can often fix problems around the house instead of calling a professional. When there was an issue with the washing machine, I fixed it on my own. When the bathroom sink faucet needed to be changed, I took care of the job. I didn’t think the AC would be a difficult task. Unfortunately, after an entire weekend of troubleshooting the HVAC system, I realized that I would be unable to complete the task without the help of a professional. I told my wife to call the HVAC service center and set up an appointment. She didn’t hesitate much at all after I mentioned making the call. The next day, two young guys from the HVAC service center arrived at our home to help with the repair. Both guys were friendly and knowledgeable on HVAC repairs. I carefully watched the guys work, so I could figure out where I went wrong and how to fix the issues in the future. It took them three hours to make the repair and I stared and watched during every single minute. The next time I have this problem, I won’t need to pay a professional for their services.

The service technician gave my wife and I very bad news.
It was time to replace the AC compressor. We decided to replace the heat pump at that time as well. Unfortunately, the HVAC repair company did not have the right equipment in stock that day. They didn’t have time to complete the installation either, so they asked if we would make an appointment for the following morning. The HVAC business provided me with a portable AC unit, since they could not complete the work until the next day. They brought the portable AC unit from the shop downtown. A service technician came back to the house and installed the large, portable AC. He showed us how to move the machine and how to empty the tank in the back. It wasn’t extremely warm that night, so my wife and I probably could have done without the portable AC. Still, it was a nice gesture from the service and repair company. The following morning, two service technicians showed up with all of our equipment. I didn’t really think it would take all day for the installation, but there were a lot of steps involved with the process. They had to get rid of the old heat pump and air conditioner and install brand new machines, pipes, and copper tubing. At the end of a long eight hour day, my wife and I had a brand new and energy efficient heating and cooling unit.

I hate to be the person that brings bad news.
- I had to tell my mom and dad when I got busted for smoking pot at school.
The look on their face was horribly sad and it made me feel awful. I hate to disappoint people. Most of my friends know that I am very loyal. I will make a friend for life and I will do my best to nurture our relationship. It’s very difficult to tell a friend bad news, especially when it might break their heart. A couple of weeks ago, I went to a local hotel to help with a boiler problem. I spent about three hours at the hotel working on the boiler repair. When I was done, I walked out to the repair truck to grab my clipboard and telephone. While I was walking through the parking lot, I saw my best friend’s girlfriend. I was surprised to see her at the hotel, because she usually works during the day. I was going to walk over and say hello, but I was in a hurry. I walked back into the hotel and I had the manager sign the invoice for the boiler repairs. When I walked back out to my truck, my best friend’s girlfriend was still in the parking lot. This time, she was making out with a guy in a hotel busboy uniform. The guy wasn’t my best friend. I felt sick all day after I saw the two of them kissing. I knew I had to tell my best friend what I saw, even if it was going to break his heart. He was totally in love with the girl and she clearly did not feel the same way about him.
My health and fitness are a priority.
- I workout for a minimum of an hour every single day.
Because I live too far from any of the local fitness centers to maintain a membership, I handle my workouts at home. I don’t have a room to devote to my workout equipment. I have a stationary bike set up in my bedroom. I keep my free weights, yoga mat, resistance bands and jump rope in a closet. I often unroll the yoga mat in the middle of the living room. Whenever the weather cooperates, I prefer to exercise outside. I like to go for a run, ride my bike, swim or kayak. I unroll my yoga mat on the back deck and go through lunges, squats and ab crunches. I enjoy breathing fresh air while I jump rope. Unfortunately, I’m restricted to an indoor workout for the majority of the year. Space is limited and I worry about causing damage to home furnishings. However, I appreciate the convenience of temperature control. I don’t need to worry if I’m dressed too warm or not warm enough. I am not exposed to humidity, rain, wet pavement, traffic fumes or nasty dogs. I’m able to set the thermostat to the ideal temperature. I lower the setting a couple of degrees to make the house a little cooler for my workout. This makes less strain on the furnace but some extra work for the air conditioner. My adjustments affect the whole house and my family sometimes complains. I have considered trying to create a home gym in the garage. There is enough space but I would need to do something about heating and cooling.
