I was the person actually doing work Thursday night when an emergency repair call was made to the Heating and A/C machine repair business.
I genuinely wasn’t using the answering service, so I answered the iPhone immediately when it rang.
The client was a commercial client and owner of a bar on top of that. The guy told me that the A/C machine in the bar was not actually working! Warm air was coming out of the vents and the guy was going mad because the store was supposed to be open for a number of hours. I told the owner of the bar not to worry about this situation. I told the guy that I would actually come to lend a hand very soon. I left my current residence shortly after and drove down to the bar. The place was packed. There was hardly any room for me to walk through the bar to find the supervisor. When I did find the supervisor, I discussed what was going on with the guy and then he showed me where I could get started on the work. The coils on the A/C machine were totally frozen. The refrigerant on the A/C device was low as well. I assumed that these issues were correlated. I grabbed some refrigerant from the truck and I filled the machine with extra refrigerant. I started the A/C machine again. I used a special thermometer to check the temperature of the air that was flowing from the machine. The air was 55 degrees. I told the bar supervisor that the refrigerant needed to be filled and I presented him with a bill for the work that was completed! He opened up the till on the register and paid me with straight up cash.
