Schools should have great indoor air quality

Can you feel that some colleges still haven’t updated their Heating & A/C systems? Even after the pandemic that we had, where indoor air quality became a major concern for us all.

I understand that installing new Heating & A/C systems is a really costly upgrade & the colleges need approval and funding for those upgrades to take place.

I would feel that the safety of the teenagers & faculty would be a top priority because they all need to breathe in scrub air. And now that there is another crisis that has risen over the last few weeks, the discussion of indoor air quality is back on the table, but my associate and I have been experiencing poor air quality in my state & have been advised to wear masks when outdoors. And teenagers with asthma and respiratory illnesses are being warned about the dangers of the air. If the outdoor air quality is bad, I would feel that the indoor air quality inside the college buildings is impacted as well. You can literally odor the smoke in the air that is absolutely filled with toxins and other pollutants. So, while we can’t control the air quality outside, it would be best if we did what we could to make sure the indoor air is safe for breathing. Therefore, I feel colleges need to get the funding that is needed to install new Heating & A/C systems or upgrade the ones that they have. Or perhaps install media air cleaners throughout the college buildings to improve the indoor air quality. It’s the really least that they could do to protect the health of the students and the faculty.
