I’m sure that all of us have heard that sentiment about being a poor person leading to a very expensive life. If you’re anything like me, you know exactly what that means. When you are living from paycheck to paycheck, barely scraping by, life gets extremely expensive. You can only take care of problems and small, inexpensive increments that often fail to fix the issue at large permanently. This is something I have been dealing with myself in my heating, cooling, and air quality control disaster. When I moved into this house I knew that the heating and cooling system wasn’t going to win any awards. However, the furnace and air conditioning system seemed to work fine and I was happy to have a roof over my head. A few weeks later I did not feel so fond of the heating, cooling, and ventilation system or the roof. In fact, it seems like I was losing a lot of expensive indoor treated air through my roof thanks to a lack of insulation. Furthermore, my heating and cooling system was regularly creating hot and cold patches with fluctuating temperatures throughout the house. I found myself calling other heating and cooling repair shop down the road on a regular basis. However, the professional temperature control technician told me that my best bet was to replace the entire heating, cooling, and ventilation plan with upgraded equipment. Of course, I couldn’t afford those. So began five years of calling my heating and cooling technician to arrange small, cheap repairs on my HVAC system. After all this time, I have added it up and realized that my poor person repair jobs amount to the cost of a brand new heating and cooling system.
