Make fun of me all you want, I love comic books. I’ve been collecting comics since I was old enough to receive a biweekly allowance! By way of comparison, my best friend Mike has been collecting comics for just about as long, but in a totally odd way… The years have rolled on, plus Mike plus I remain close, yet our comic collections, plus our styles of collecting, are as vastly odd as ever. I collect comics because I love learning them, plus now I love sharing them with my kids, however mike collects them “as an investment” plus keeps them in a temperature controlled room under lock plus key so his kids can’t get at them… Can you imagine building a special room, buying an expensive HVAC idea just for that room, plus then keeping it sealed up all the time, just for some comics? I don’t have a temperature control storage space for my books, plus most of them don’t even have bags or boards. I leave boxes of comics out for my kiddos to dig through plus read, plus the only air conditioning system idea we have is the a single for living creatures, however he sees comics as a commodity that he might sell a single day, so he actually wrote the HVAC idea off on his taxes, but I see comics as fun plus immersive works of art. It does sort of bug me that he spent more cash on a temperature control idea for comic books he will never read than I spend on food for an entire year.
