Finding some comfort and being able to manage change is often elusive and tough to find.
I happen to be pretty resistant to change in general, at least when it comes to my own personal life.
But, it’s just a part of life that we all have to deal with. The home I share with my wife is in a part of the country where the sun shines nearly all the time. And the weather is remarkable and near perfect for like 8 months out of the year. Then, there is the depths of summer where the heat is just overwhelming. I find that our HVAC simply runs and runs during this period. The change I’m dealing with now is the effort we are making to ease the load on our HVAC. Our heating & cooling unit needs to last at least another decade at least. So this is why we are attempting to ease up on it in order to get the most longevity out of it. Plus, it’s not too bad to save some money on it as well. From the start, the new HVAC setting did not go over all that well with me or my wife. Even though we understood the reasoning behind what we were doing with the HVAC, it was still tough at first. However, just like everything else, with a little time the whole thing became fairly normal. Now, it seems normal to have a fan on during the day or pull the curtains to lessen the effects of direct sun heating. All in all, between the savings and getting the most from our HVAC in terms of longevity, this change has been worth it.
