Surprised by how much I like the gym

I have always made my workouts a priority.

It’s important to me to maintain a high level of fitness.

I exercise every single day for a minimum of an hour. I am very careful about what I eat and make sure to drink plenty of water. For a long time, I simply handled my workouts at home. I had a nice set up in a guest bedroom with free weights, a weight bench, jump rope and resistance bands. If the weather was nice, I’d go for a run or ride my bicycle. As I got older, it hit a plateau. I was struggling to maintain the same level of strength and stamina. I put on a couple of pounds. I knew I needed to change things up. I decided to join the local fitness center. I figured I’d spend an hour at the gym one day per week to work new muscles and burn some extra calories. I was amazed by the amenities and equipment available at the gym. There’s a lap pool, sauna and steam room. There’s a running track, racquetball courts and tanning beds. I can sign up for all different kinds of group classes, including spin, yoga, pilates, crossfit and kickboxing. The amount of machines is just amazing. Everything is so clean and modern and state-of-the-art. I get motivated the second I step through the door. I’ve gotten now where I head to the gym at least four days a week and I’m often there for two hours. I’m am getting the most out of my membership fees.
