When paying my gym membership fees, I asked about membership discounts

I recognize I’m not the only lady right now who is struggling financially.

Things haven’t been self-explanatory since the beginning of the pandemic. I didn’t lose my task altogether, however my hours were cut back almost immediately. I work in construction plus I’m considered an essential worker by the state. Despite this fact, several construction projects have halted or are delayed. If there’s nothing being built, I am out of work even if I’m “essential.” All that means is once the work is available, our contracts are not restricted by the statewide lockdowns. I hope more work becomes available soon because my unemployment funds aren’t enough to survive on. Even though I don’t have a family, I have a lot of bills between my car payment, my mortgage payment, plus all of my utilities. If I can’t make money, I am dead in the water with everything in my life hanging in the balance. This is why I started to think that I undoubtedly can’t afford to keep my gym membership active. My local health plus fitness center charges a weekly fee, however you have to sign an annual contract. My last contract is about to expire, so I’m up for renewal. The reality of my situation is this—unless the gym can offer me membership discounts, I can’t afford my membership fees any longer. That means I have to go back to working out at apartment with my limited workout equipment. I asked the lady at the front desk in my gym if they provided any membership discounts for any reason. I thought that being a more than four year customer might mean something to them, however they said that their prices were final.
