I worked for a reputable bank for a long time, but I swear the bosses treated the workers like children.
They would always tempt everybody with treats or snacks and they would even send people to “time out” if they were not behaving as they should. It’s true, there were a lot of immature people working at the bank, and it was something that made me feel out of place. I didn’t care about a lot of these young musicians that these youngsters would be talking about, and I certainly didn’t have any reason to act out. I also didn’t like it when the bosses would regularly be trying to give me candy, like I could afford to eat unhealthy food all the time. The youngsters were all about the candy though, and I would tell them they better keep on top of brushing their teeth. It made me shudder to think of the dental complications they would have if they kept eating junk food like that. All I cared about was that the temperature control settings were just right and there were no issues with the HVAC system. I always preferred to have good air quality and I mostly liked to work alone. I didn’t work with the customers, I focused on data entry and other responsibilities, but even I would be treated like some high school student by these bosses who were actually younger than I was. Let’s just say that I was happy when I got a job working from home where I could easily adjust my own temperature control settings to feel comfortable.
