An HVAC issue that almost cost me my job

I manage a five-star hotel with an outstanding reputation.

We aim to offer our customers excellent services and ensure we put a smile on their faces. We provide our customers with comfortable and have the best experience by providing them good benefits. One of the customers who booked a hotel room complained that the thermostat in his room is not working and I as the manager must ensure that we give our customers suitable accommodation. I called the HVAC maintenance person, and they assured me they would send an HVAC repairman to come and check it. The technician informed me that it needed a replacement because it was unrepairable. I decided to move the man occupying that room to another one because it wouldn’t be against our ethics to have him in a room with substandard HVAC that doesn’t help with indoor comfort. I communicated with the hotel administration, and I had to confirm the purchase and installation of a new one. I visited one of the HVAC businesses, and there I was able to talk to the HVAC professional who told me it is vital to install one with new HVAC technology, of which there are different HVAC brands. I bought new HVAC equipment, and the HVAC provider assigned a technician to help with the HVAC installation. I made sure to buy a good quality HVAC to ensure the comfort of our customers. Another customer later occupied the room, and they did not have an issue with the air conditioning since the new HVAC unit was working perfectly. After that incident, I made sure that housekeeping and the technicians checked the rooms properly.
