No one apart from them was permitted to touch it
Growing up, there were several teenagers in the house! Apart from our two siblings, there were also several cousins residing with us. After their parents passed away, they moved in with us. We were all like siblings! This was evident in our never ending fights and quarrels, and it used to drive my parents crazy, especially during summer. At one time, the fights over the temperature control became so intense that we exchanged blows! Needless to say, we were all grounded and punished. Mom also banned us from touching the thermostat until they came up with a lasting solution. Mom called an A/C professional to the home to maintain the cooling unit. As he was certainly working, he spoke to him about the situation in the house, and he came up with a solution. The A/C worker explained that mom and dad could get A/C zoning. We’d have separate thermostats in each of our rooms. This meant we could each set it the way we wanted and not interfere with the rest of the house. Mom was so cheerful after he l received about A/C zoning since he knew we had to stop fighting. It took a day for the A/C crew to come in and set up A/C zoning in the house. After that, our parents sat us down and set some modern rules about the main thermostat in the house. No one apart from them was permitted to touch it. We were only allowed to change the thermostats in our rooms. Things calmed down in the house, and we got along that summer, but as siblings, we knew we had always quarreled about something.
