It was cold and damp in the caves

My wife and I have been enjoying one adventure after another since we bought an RV and started traveling across the country.

There are hundreds of state and national parks across the country and my wife and I plan to visit every one of them.

One of our trips took us to a national park with caves. Even though the caves were out of my comfort zone, I decided to join my wife for our underground trek. We carried flashlights and we also had headlamps as well. It was extremely cold and damp in the caves. There was no heat coming from anywhere. I had a sweatshirt in my backpack. Halfway through the cave, I decided to stop in a small crevice so I could grab that sweatshirt out of my backpack. It was difficult to change, but I was much warmer after I added a second layer of clothing. The 2-hour walk through the caves was an amazing adventure. We saw stalagmites and stalactites and several cave formations that have never seen the light of day. There was no heat in the belly of the cave and it was cold. When we were finished with the cave tour, both of us were a bit frigid and shivery. We warmed up under the light from the sun as we sat at a picnic table and enjoyed our lunch. The rest of the day wasn’t quite as much fun as the cave tour, but we were warmer and more comfortable. I took off my sweatshirt once we reached the end of the cave entrance.
