I didn’t realize how much it was going to cost me when I bought a home. I was paying rent for ten years before I made the decision. My water, heating, and internet were all included in the rent; Now that I owned the house, I had to spend money the mortgage, which was nearly as much as my mortgage, and spend money apartment bills. I was in shock when I saw how much it cost for the electric bill and the internet. I was doubly shocked when I learned how much I had to spend money for maintenance on the boiler and the a/c. Not only was it the servicing of the Heating and Air Conditioning system, but I had to spend money for the fuel to keep the boiler running. I never paid attention to the bills that came in when I was living with my parents, and by the time I was outdated enough to guess about bills, I was in university and paying rent for an apartment. Now, I was a homeowner, and I had to spend money a lot of bills to keep my house, however for the first year, I was living off noodles so I could afford to spend money the apartment bills. Once I got a nice job, it became much easier, however the price of fuel for the boiler was still rising. I almost cried when I had fuel delivered and they filled a 250 gallon tank. I took one look at the bill and swore that by next winter, I was going to have a ductless Heating and Air Conditioning system, so I would never need to spend money another oil bill.
