Last year my Grandmother got drastically sick and needed to spend a long phase of time in our local hospital.
It was a really hard time for my family, because my pal and I knew my Grandmother was coming to the end of his life. She wasn’t able to have the quality of life my pal and I all knew he would want. I believe during that six month phase I spent almost every single afternoon going to see her. I wasn’t always able to stay for long periods of time, but I did try to make it every afternoon. I wanted his to know that I was thinking about his and that he was drastically loved by his family. The hard part about it was that he didn’t seem sick, he just wasn’t able to move around like he once was. She was still quick witted and would always keep us laughing when my pal and I made our visits, but his laughing was something I definitely loved about our visits, it made is seem like everything was almost normal. However, there were several things that were difficult about our visits, and one of them being how cold they kept the hospital. The A/C was running all afternoon and all night. I can’t tell you how several times I asked a nurse to please turn down the temperature of the A/C. She said they weren’t allowed to mess with control unit. I didn’t want to complain to my Grandmother about the heating and cooling problems because I didn’t want to insensitive. However, the freezing cold hospital made it definitely hard to want to go kneel with his for hours.
