I guess you live and learn, that’s what they always say.
- I never really believed that important lessons were seeping into my head when I was younger.
However, the older I get the more I look for the lesson in every single experience I have. This is how I can process unfortunate events and try to do better for myself in the future without wallowing for too long. This was definitely my strategy last year after I had a major heating, cooling, and air quality control investment take a turn for the worst. You see, I had moved into a new house and realized that the air quality control equipment needed to be upgraded. I found a high quality HVAC dealership in the area – or so I thought. I utilized their HVAC services to purchase a new heating, cooling, and air quality control system for the entire house. I thought that my HVAC investment would last me the next 20 years… but I was very wrong. Within a year all of my air handling devices were not operating correctly. I couldn’t rely on my air conditioner or forced air furnace to keep my indoor air temperature consistent. My energy bills were constantly increasing no matter what I did. Eventually, I realized that the entire central heating and cooling system was a dud. I could have been very upset about this air conditioning and heating disaster… But I decided to learn a lesson and move forward, instead. Whenever this HVAC system does finally stop working, I’m not going to pay for another expensive Central HVAC plan. Instead, I will be buying smaller mini split ductless heating and cooling systems. If those break down, I won’t have to face myself in the mirror with so much disappointment.
