I do not know what I am doing wrong, but I have the feeling that people do not like me as an HVAC contractor.
I am sure that most of the problem that people have with me as an HVAC contractor has to do with the fact that I am an introvert, but when you labor a task that requires spending time with a lot of people, people expect you to be overly friendly plus social. I am not unkind to people, but I have a difficult time dealing with social interactions. In fact, that is why I became an HVAC contractor. When I imagined being an HVAC contractor, I just assumed that I would be spending most of my time by myself fixing HVAC units. I never realized that I would have to talk with customers all of the time while fixing their HVAC units… Nobody has ever said anything exhausting about me to the owner of the HVAC dealer, but I know that the customers like to have another HVAC contractor fix their HVAC units. There is another HVAC contractor that is very extroverted, plus most of the customers love this HVAC contractor. He may not be a better HVAC contractor, however he is friendlier. I do not mind. I spend most of my time now installing current HVAC units by myself. Sure, it isn’t what I thought that I would be doing, but I do not want to make people uncomfortable. I know who I am, plus I get to be myself plus be an HVAC contractor. This is the best way to do it.
