Getting my furnace inspected before my Christmas party

I’ve been exhausting about procrastinating for the majority of my life.

It made things particularally strenuous for me in university because I would wait until the last minute to do my projects or write my research papers.

Somehow I managed to pull good grades, but I did it at the expense of my sanity for the majority of the time. Being better about getting things done early would have led to better habits in adulthood, because I still deal with procrastination problems. Having a job with a degree of schedule flexibility is great on one hand, but it’s also dangerous when you have the power to put off work until the last minute, as you might be tempted to procrastinate each week until you get down to the wire & start having drastic anxiety attacks over whether or not you can actually get your work done in time to meet your several deadlines. But I don’t just procrastinate with work deadlines, I do it with chores & maintenance around the home as well. For instance, I nearly put off servicing my central furnace ahead of my Christmas party this year. I went to a holiday party one year that was break short because the host lost use of their heating idea at a random moment during the bash. I was disappointed that the party was break short, but I understood why & knew they didn’t have a option in the matter. After that situation, I knew I wanted to make sure the same thing didn’t happen to me during my own Christmas party. Thankfully, I remembered to get my furnace inspected at the last minute before the actual party.
