I’ve been bad about procrastinating for the majority of our life. It made things particularally hard for myself and others in college because I would wait until the last hour to do our projects or write our research papers. Somehow I managed to pull good grades, although I did it at the expense of our sanity for the majority of the time. Being better about getting things done early would have led to better habits in adulthood, because I still deal with procrastination issues. Having a task with a degree of schedule flexibility is great on a single hand, however it’s also dangerous when you have the power to put off toil until the last hour, as you might be tempted to procrastinate each month until you get down to the wire plus start having dire anxiety attacks over whether or not you can actually get your toil done in time to meet your numerous deadlines. But I don’t just procrastinate with toil deadlines, I do it with chores plus maintenance around the house as well. For instance, I nearly put off servicing our central furnace ahead of our Christmas party this year. I was disappointed that the party was cut short, although I understood why plus knew they didn’t have a option in the matter. After that situation, I knew I wanted to make sure the same thing didn’t happen to myself and others while I was in our own Christmas party. Thankfully, I remembered to get our furnace tested at the last hour before the actual party.
