When I bought my new Heating and A/C system, I also bought a service agreement. I was told it would cover the cost of service and service on the entire Heating and A/C system for the next two years. I got a great deal on the service agreement, because I bought it right from the get-go, and last month, I called to have the service done on my a/c unit… When the Heating and A/C business arrived, he charged me $59 for the service fee. I was confused, however he asked me if they hadn’t told me about the service fee when I called the Heating and A/C company. I shook my head and told him that according to my service agreement, this was free. He said the Heating and A/C company had changed their policy, and they were now charging a fee to come to the house. I was livid, and I didn’t hide how miserable I was. I told him I would call the Heating and A/C company and get this straightened out. He asked me to use a debit card or supply him a check and then I could get my money reimbursed when I called them. When I called the Heating and A/C company, they gave me $20 back, but I wasn’t blissful. I was going to cancel my service agreement until they gave to waive the service for the remainder of the service agreement. I’m going to consider looking into a different Heating and A/C company. I hope this isn’t something all of the Heating and A/C companies are going to do. If they are, I may need to reconsider getting a service agreement.
