I’m in awe of new residential HVAC

I don’t guess anyone really wants to hear that they are now going to have to fork out thousands of dollars for essential stuff.

That’s why I like to sort of have a bit of a plan when it comes to replacing cars, fridges and stuff like that.

I’m awfully thankful that my plan for the HVAC equipment replacement went as well as it did. Any time I make a plan, I know it’s going to change more than likely. I’ve lived enough life to know that you have to be flexible when it comes to planning for future events. And that sort of happened to the HVAC equipment upgrade. When our heat pump hit the 20 years mark, I started setting aside money in a separate bank account each month. I just did it and didn’t think all that much about it. I figured that if I could save a few years, I’d be mostly covered when the heat pump took the dirt nap. But again, life being life, that’s not at all how it turned out. I just now tapped that bank account as the heat pump just wasn’t going to make it’s 28th Summer. Yep, I had a full on stack of money in that account. I really didn’t realize just how much we had saved. For sure, we could have all the HVAC technology and the very best in residential HVAC that we wanted. And that’s just exactly what we did. Some of that was because we just wanted stuff like zone controlled HVAC and a smart thermostat. But adding all this HVAC technology also comes with an eye toward the future. We are also adding value to the home with all this new HVAC equipment because it won’t be long until we sell this house and retire.
