So I decided to really go deep this year with Spring cleaning.
This was a yearly ritual when I was growing up inside the central air conditioning of my parent’s house.
They were serious about starting out the end of Winter with a completely clean home. But then again, we were all cooped up inside that house for four or five months. That’s the sort of Winter I grew up with. It was brutal cold but we had an oil furnace that never let us down. Still after that long being cooped up inside the heating from the oil furnace, my parent’s strip cleaned the house. It was a family affair as well. So I come by my love of Spring cleaning honestly. I even take a long weekend off from the commercial HVAC of my job to get after it. So does my husband and like my parents, I have jobs for the kids as well. The pandemic caused my normally annual Spring cleaning schedule to get all out of whack. We didn’t do the Spring cleaning for several years because our lives were sort of turned upside down with work, school and all of it. So this Spring, I wanted to take Spring cleaning up a level. That’s why I had the HVAC professionals come out and do the ductwork cleaning and ductwork resealing. Wow, was that ever a great idea because I don’t think this house has ever been this clean. It’s really quite amazing. While I couldn’t quite believe the amount of ick that came from the air ducts, the results are phenomenal. Ductwork cleaning has just become by new, annual addition to Spring cleaning.
