I’m pretty sure my neighbors think my family is crazy and have an addiction.
While I don’t think we are crazy, we certainly have an obsession with HVAC units of all kinds.
Each of my family members has their own favored HVAC unit which they have chosen to have in their part of the house. My oldest sister prefers to have a small air conditioner in her room, and a large furnace because she is always cold. She also has three space heaters spread throughout her room so no matter where she is sitting in her room, there is always a space heater nearby. My brother, who is always in the sun outside and doesn’t like his room to be warm, has a large window air conditioner and in both of his windows in his room. He also has the central air conditioner run to his room through the house air vents, so on hot summer days when he’s outside working, he will turn his air conditioners on high using his own smart thermostat. My mom and dad, on the other hand, like the room to be different temperatures depending what time of the day it is. In the morning, they like the air conditioner to be on low so it’s cool in their room, in the afternoon they have the air conditioner on high, and in the evening they like the furnace to heat their room nice and toasty. While my family really does have a lot of HVAC units in our house, we can say that our rooms are always the temperature we want them to be.
