Renting a home can really be a drag. When things break, depending on how your landlord is, it could take forever to get something fixed. There should be a law against this! My central heating and air conditioning system had broken down when it was really cold out last winter, and my landlord took almost 2 weeks to get the local heating and air conditioning specialist out to fix the thing! I ended up having to invest in 3 portable space heaters just to be able to keep warm in my place. I took the price of those portable space heaters off my rent that month and the landlord tried to evict me! I called a lawyer and long story short…I ended up moving to a better house with a better landlord, and I sued this jerk for neglect. This landlord was a real piece of work let me tell you! He couldn’t even fix the central heating and air conditioning system when it broke down in a timely fashion. Also, he was over charging me for rent as it was for what the homes were going for in the local area. At this new place I am in, the landlord is really great. And if there was ever a time where the central heating and air conditioning system breaks down, I know for sure they will fix it with no problems. So you if you have a dippy landlord who thinks they are God, don’t be afraid to take a stand against them!
