We decided to sleep with the air conditioner running so we didn’t have to smell the foul odor from the farms
A long time ago, my wife and I were on our way home from a concert and we had some car trouble. I didn’t want to get stuck on the side of the road, so we decided to find a hotel and fix the car problem in the morning. I didn’t want to travel very far, and we only had a couple of hotels that were close. We decided to rent a room from the biggest hotel next to the interstate. The hotel was fairly new with updated features, fixtures, and HVAC units in every room. The lady at the front desk was very kind and she even gave us the name of a couple of different car mechanics that would be able to help us in the morning. She gave us a room on the second floor. We were all the way at the end of the hall. It wasn’t particularly hot that night, so my wife and I planned to sleep without the air conditioner. Unfortunately, we were in the middle of a farming area with lots of cows, pigs, and horses. The smell from the farms was very pungent. We decided to sleep with the air conditioner running so we didn’t have to smell the foul odor from the farms. Even though it was very cold with the air conditioner running, we kept it going all night long. In the morning, we packed up and found a mechanic to help us with the check engine light. I’ll never forget that night as long as the two of us are married.
