I was really touched by the picture my daughter drew at school. The kids were asked to draw the thing they loved doing most at home. My daughter drew a picture of us changing the air filter for the HVAC system. This is something we have been doing together every month and it’s one of her favorite things for sure. She always asks tons of questions about how the HVAC system works. She became interested when she was young, but she was afraid of the HVAC system at first. She thought there was some kind of monster inside the ductwork system. I explained to her how the HVAC worked and showed her how to even use the thermostat. She would always ask to come with me when I was going to change the air filter, and I even showed her how to do it. So basically, we take turns swapping out the air filter because we both love doing this job. She knows how important the job is to keep up with the air filter changes and other crucial HVAC tune-ups. She understands that professionals have to come out to take care of that, even though she asked me why we couldn’t do it long ago. I suppose we could if we went to an HVAC trade school, but not if we didn’t do something like that. I think she’s actually interested in going to a trade school to be HVAC certified. That would be something because she would be teaching me a thing or two about HVAC repairs and maintenance techniques.
