Much of my life went by me without me really noticing it. It’s not that I was holed up in a basement with too much air conditioning for a decade or too. I just really didn’t pay attention to stuff like I do now. Perhaps that comes with age and maturity. Actually, it kind freaks me out just how much I do pay attention to stuff. Now I can’t tell you what I had for lunch yesterday but, I notice stuff happening around me. Working from home this year resulted in my really tuning into my house. At first, it was so tough to leave the perfect zone controlled HVAC of our corporate offices. I wasn’t really sure that I could even be productive from home. But that proved to be not near the problem that I thought it might be. A result of being around the house so much was that I was also getting all my projects done. And I was taking care of all the stuff like the HVAC chores every single month. I’m not sure I have ever actually changed the HVAC air filter on time for 10 or 12 months in a row. And this attention to the HVAC also saved me a rather expensive HVAC repairman bill. Walking by the HVAC cabinet outside, I heard a weird noise. Instead of continuing on, I called the HVAC company on the spot. Turns out what I was hearing was the beginning of what would eventually be a breakdown and expensive. But I caught it early and the HVAC professional was able to mitigate the damage big time.
