Some people like to go door-to-door to sell things, and some people love opening the door to these visitors and having a chat with them.
I however don’t care for people coming to my house and trying to sell me things, I’ll make an exception if it is some cute kids selling cookies.
Today, some guy I didn’t know came up to my door and knocked. He was dressed all fancy and had what looked like some HVAC products placed on the porch next to him, with some air filters neatly tucked under his arm. When I opened the door he greeted me and asked if I would be interested in a free air filter? I agreed, I don’t turn down free. He then explained that he was the owner of a new HVAC business just down the road and was going around and meeting all the new people. He then asked if I would be interested in any heating and cooling products, he gestured with his hand and showed me some window air conditioning systems and a few HEPA filters, and even a portable space heater. I saw the window air conditioner and knew that it was something that I had been needing for quite some time. When he saw me look interested in the window air conditioning system he gave me a nice discount on it. I decided to go ahead and purchase it right then and there. It was a good thing too, because that window a/c has been excellent for my home. The guy gave me his business card to his heating and air conditioning company and I am going to go and check them out this weekend.
