I should have asked about the cooling system before buying this used RV

I got so happy about buying an RV that I didn’t do our due diligence with researching them before signing paperwork to purchase 1.

  • Somehow in our mind I was thinking that any complications with an RV could be solved with more than one or multiple trips to the mechanic.

Unfortunately, there are some complications that are worse than others with any kind of vehicle, let alone a motorhome. For 1, you’d most likely want to avoid purchasing a vehicle with a broken transmission unless you had 1 available from another car that was scrapped for parts. Even then, I still wouldn’t do this if I was an auto mechanic myself. With the RV, it drives on the road fantastic plus there are no serious problems with the engine that our mechanic plus I can find in our inspections. However, the carpet inside the RV needed to be ripped out plus upgraded with vinyl flooring. The worst problem with the RV is the broken cooling system in the sleep space. I asked about the cockpit cooling system only, assuming that the seller would notify me if there was an issue with the other cooling system as well. I recognize it’s on me to ask as various questions about an RV before agreeing to purchase it from the seller. Still, it annoys me that I’ll have to pay for a up-to-date cooling system to put in the sleeping part of the RV. At least it gives me a opportunity to put a better cooling system inside than the outdated 1 that is in there right now. I suppose that I’ll get better fuel mileage from the updated RV cooling system.
