My daughter has always been concerned about the environment.
When she was a kid, she did a presentation about climate change and global warming, and ever since then, she has always kept her interest in it. In her adult life, she became a minimalist, and has lived her life as simply as possible. So, it was no surprise that she wanted a tiny home to live in. Tiny homes have become very popular in the last few years, where more and more people are reducing the spaces they are living in. Some tiny homes are built inside old shipping containers, and these homes have become so popular that major manufacturers are making them now. My daughter and her husband built their tiny home themselves because it was the most cost-efficient way. It’s completely off grid and they use solar energy to power the home. And I was surprised when she mentioned that she had climate control. They installed a ductless mini split heating and cooling unit. My daughter explained that these units are the most energy efficient HVAC units on the market. In fact, these ductless mini split systems have some of the highest SEER ratings, which for some, can range between 20 and 30. And considering the average SEER rating for a regular HVAC unit is around 15, it sounds like these ductless mini split units will have far lower greenhouse gas emissions. Of course, this may not be the best option as a minimalist, but at least my daughter can rest assured that she selected a product that lowers her carbon footprint.
