Lately, I am baffled at how unpredictable the weather has become.
In early Fall, the weather was cool outside and that lasted for about 3 weeks, and then the temperature heated up again. It has since been fluctuating and we had a couple of days where the temperature dropped below freezing. On a few days last week, the high hovered between 55 and 60, but this week, we are up in the mid 80’s. In fact, the temperature in my car read 91 degrees and usually it’s about 3 or 4 degrees off. So, last week, I was using my HVAC for heating and cooling this week, I have been using my air conditioning. Although our Winters are normally mild, I can’t remember a time when the weather was this irregular. To make things even more bizarre, while sitting out in my yard, I noticed that the small shrub around my HVAC unit had blossoms growing on it. And of course, the bees were out buzzing around the shrub. Typically, the shrub would begin to blossom around late February to early March. And that is usually when I stop using my central heating before the Summer months. I assume that because I am already using my air conditioner in January that the weather will probably remain this way for the rest of the Winter months. This only means that I will be spending more money on my energy bill this year. I need to find a better way to keep my home comfortable that does not include the use of my HVAC unit.
