An HVAC unit does more than heat and cool homes

If you live in a house or apartment, chances are, you are one of the more than 300+ million people that have some form of heating or cooling unit inside your home.

And these units are primarily used to maintain comfort in our safe space.

Personally, I use my HVAC unit every day, especially because I work from home. It maintains a comfortable atmosphere when I am in my home office. And it does the same for the other millions of people who depend on their heating and cooling unit for comfort. But did you know that besides keeping the house comfortable that the HVAC unit also maintains humidity levels in our home? Most modern HVAC units have an evaporator coil that removes water vapors from the air. Once the coil collects all the moisture, it is dispensed in the drain pipe that leads outside the home. Some older HVAC units might not have this feature but as mentioned, most modern units are equipped with it. It’s great if your HVAC unit can maintain the humidity in your house because it will be a more comfortable space. Just like the humidity outside, the lower it is the more comfortable we will be. If you do own an older HVAC unit and you are concerned about the humidity levels in your home, you can opt to purchase a humidifier. Though there are different types of humidifiers on the market, for the best results, you’ll want to invest in a whole house humidifier. It would be the best option to keep your home as comfortable as possible.
