Signs that you might need to replace your HVAC unit

A few years ago, I lived in a condo that I was renting from my landlord.

And it was a beautiful 2-bedroom condo that was on the 4th floor of the building, and it overlooked a fountain that illuminated at night. At the end of a long day, my favorite thing to do was to sit and watch the sunset as well as the stunning fountain through my living room window. I must be honest, I miss that apartment a lot, but I needed to move because my landlord did not want to invest in a new HVAC unit. For the last year that I lived in the condo, the unit would break down every 2 months, which means he would have to spend money on repair expenses. Based on what the HVAC technician said, the unit was leaking refrigerant and needed to be replaced. But because my landlord did not want to replace the unit, the tech would refill it ever so often. In addition to the leak, I noticed that my energy bill was increasing. At first, it was a gradual increase, but then, it went up by a lot more than what I was used to. I could tell that the HVAC unit was an older unit, and I assumed that it was way past the expiration date. Not to mention that at times, it would make a lot of weird noises. All these malfunctions and issues are signs that the HVAC unit was failing and needed to be replaced. However, my landlord refused to get a new unit, so I had no choice but to eventually move out of the condo. I know I made the right decision, but I still miss that beautiful apartment.
