Last winter, my older brother had come home from the army.
So of course, our mom was super thrilled.
But it was a surprise and we had to get his room ready in a hurry. Big pans were underway to invite lots of people over to the apartment to celebrate his safe return. Our relatives as well as a whole bunch of his friends were going to come so we needed to do a few repairs around the place. One thing was the multiple cold spots in the house. She had called an HVAC mechanic to check the heating system the month before, but there was no concern with the heating and cooling system in the house. But their issue with cold spots kept persisting, as well as it was becoming quite annoying. That’s when my brother told mom to call the HVAC mechanic back to the apartment to get it looked at again. This time, he was there to talk about it with the AC expert. The AC expert told us there must be a few different places where the warm air was escaping! Doing a thorough inspection of the apartment would help him figure it out so the AC expert began conducting the inspection. He said that some of the heating vents were cracked and that was causing air leaks. This was why certain spots in the apartment were not getting warm enough air from the HVAC unit, then another issue was the windows in the house. The windows had gaps which were also responsible for air leaks… Even cranking up the heating system plan was not finally working because the air could still escape from the house. Another issue was dirty air vents. We decided to schedule a dull duct cleaning as soon as possible. Mom was pleased with the results and everything turned out fine.
