My extended family is known for people who task in the trades.
My Grandma was a chef and got most of his education at a trade school in our city.
For generations my family has lived in this very same zip code and we’ve seen at least 6 people finish programs at that same trade school, then my grandma decided to be an electrician after he tried becoming an auto mechanic and realized he wasn’t very good at it. He did all of the electrical wiring in the varying homes that my parents put together over the years once they had the currency to do so. Now my aunt works in property development laying fiber optic lines for networks and security systems, so he doesn’t even handle residential electrical wiring anymore. My Mom is also a tradesman, although he selected the heating and cooling industry instead. They both attended the same trade school within a couple years of a single another, but they didn’t have the same interests beyond wishing to task in the trades generally speaking. My Mom is cheerful being an Heating and modern Air Conditioning worker because it gave him a sense of task security that he said was lacking at the other part time jobs he worked while I was in this time. Aside from that, I can benefit from not requiring a heating and cooling contractor to service my a/c and gas furnace, as I have my dad to help with that instead. He gives myself and others even-handed and frank talk, and I don’t have to worry about him trying to make a sale with me. I love numerous of the modern Heating and Air Conditioning companies that I have dealt with in the past, but it’s still within their best interest to make cold hard cash off our mutual arrangements. That’s how a business survives, so I can’t blame them for it.
