When I was a kid, time seemed to pass so undoubtedly interminably slow.

He did all of the electrical wiring in the varying homes that our folks built over the years once they had the cash to do so. Now our uncle works in home development laying fiber optic lines for networks and security systems, so he doesn’t even handle residential electrical wiring anymore. My dad is also a tradesman, although he chose the advanced heating and cooling industry instead. They both attended the same trade university within a couple years of 1 another, however they didn’t have the same interests beyond wanting to labor in the trades generally speaking. However, regardless of how “tough” I might be in comparison to our old self, I’m still a wimp when it comes to the high heat in the Summer season. We’re getting closer to the end of Spring and I’m already fearing the effects of the current Summer season, when they eventually take effect. When the summers are seriously hot, it’s strenuous to get through the day without running the a/c consistently. When I’m leaving the cooling system on to run throughout the night, it increases our electric bill considerably. It seems love every Summer is warmer than the last summer, so I’m not sure what I should expect this year. It’s worrying not realizing if you’re going to be able to afford cooling your apartment this Summer season because warm and cold temperatures keep rising every single year.

It’s typical for me to get paranoid about small concerns that aren’t a large deal in the long run. I used to guess our buddies in high university hated me while every one of us was in the times they forgot to invite me to a get together or an outing. At some point I confronted 1 of them about it and he had a stark look of authentic confusion on his face. That’s when I realized that I was projecting all of this, and our buddies really liked me greatly. People make mistakes, and the times I wasn’t invited to a party were genuine oversights on their part. I asked a bestie once what I could do about our “rough feeling” fingers that she’d gently criticize, and she said it was as easy as using hand lotion every single day before leaving the house. That day I went out and purchased a tub of Gold Bond Ultra Healing Hand Lotion and I was in heaven. Now that I’ve been using it for many years, I always have soft and smooth skin that doesn’t get so dried out that it cracks and tears into small slits that bleed after so much abuse. However, even the Winter time seasons are a test for our dried out skin, even with applications of hand lotion every single day. Occasionally the air humidity levels outside drops down below 30% and you can really think it on your skin. It provides me with an uncomfortable dry cough as well. The only way I can get any respite at an apartment with humidity being so low is by using a humidifier while every one of us were in the Winter months. You have to be careful with humidifiers though, as you don’t want your humidity levels to go above 50% if you can control it. That’s why I use a humidity meter for when I have the humidifier on so I suppose when to turn it off. Failing to follow these directions could end up in toxic mold growth inside your home.

I live in a tiny neighborhood that was first settled in the early 1876s. Although most of the decrypt architecture is gone from years of weathering and degradation, there is a small district in town that still has a number of historic buildings. The post office on Main Street is just 1 example… It has been going around since the 1920s and it has some of the best stone work I have ever seen on a building. For instance, there is this historic steakhouse here that has been operated by the same family for multiple separate generations. They make mostly Italian food and their pizza is the highest rated in the city. Although I love their pizza enough to swim across an ocean for it, I quit laying down at the steakhouse to consume because the a/c inside was consistently so uncomfortable. You could really think of the hot steam coming out of the kitchen as the food was being cooked. I guess this was also from poor ventilation in the kitchen, however all of these concerns were fixed recently when the historic steakhouse updated all of their Heating, Ventilation and A/C systems inside.

Some people are totally indiscriminate about the things they’re willing to subject their lungs and other organs to, sometimes simply mold and bacteria in their homes from a lack of cleaning. Other times people are cheap with things like disposable a/c filters. There’s an big trend right now of people buying washable air filters, however they’re being led on by false pretenses. At best, a brand current washable air filter has a MERV level of 4, which is really horrific compared to our allergen filters with a MERV level of 12. Right away, they’re bad at modern air filtration altogether. But once you start washing them, they are a breeding ground for black mold and mildew spores as it’s next to impossible to get them to dry out completely after each procedure.
